Mont-Mégantic National Park

Climb Mont Saint-Joseph or Mont Mégantic; discover ASTROLab and the astronomical observatories; explore both the mountain and the sky. This is what makes Mont Mégantic National Park a place where activities “on Earth and in the stars” combine in perfect harmony. This park, created in 1994, is both an increasingly sought-after four-season outdoor destination and a scientific attraction that is unique in Quebec, in the heart of the first International Dark Sky Reserve.

There are two trail areas to double the hiking fun!

The 20 km of walking trails in the Observatoire area lead you to exceptional lookouts on the summits of Mont Mégantic (1110 m) and Mont Saint-Joseph (1075 m). For those who love long hikes, platforms and rustic camping, rustic camps and shelters can be reserved.

When the trails are covered in snow, snowshoes are recommended.

Still want more breathtaking views? Discover the 15 km of trails in the Franceville area in the northwest section of the park. For a unique experience, climb the spectacular rocky Franceville ridge and descend into the gorgeous Montagne Stream valley, where the route is dotted with waterfalls.

Lace up your boots and have some fun on the mountains of Mont-Mégantic National Park!
